As a child Joy was born curious and came from a creative family. Her father was an artist and graduated from the Art Institute of Chicago and her uncle was a designer at Macy's in New York City.
At the age of 8 Joy's father showed her a dandelion and had her touch the golden petals as they were thrown into the air, he said "look beyond the obvious in nature, as there is a simple beauty that draws you in" and she never forgot his words.
Among much training Joy was able to apprentice with the world renowned Roy Scailenberg, this enriched her talent in abstracts and also stimulated her creative expressionistic paintings.
Joy "Lillith" has participated in the juried Seafood Festival and Honey Horn in the Carolina Low Country. She has received a People's Choice award and recognition from many local art organizations. Joy's realistic and expressionistic paintings have been displayed and sold from some the of the areas finest restaurants and resorts. Her art and jewelry are also displayed and featured at the Art League of Hilton Head.
